Helping Kyle

POST FALLS - The community is rallying to help with medical-related expenses of a 17-year-old Post Falls boy who needs a life-saving heart and lung transplant.
Kyle Sipe was born with an end-stage congenital heart disease and the family is considering multiple transplant options.
"I'd trade places with him in a minute; I wish I could," said Mark Sipe, Kyle's father, fighting back tears. "This spring he told us he was ready (for a transplant)."
Those wanting to help the family can donate items for a rummage sale/car wash fundraiser that will be held on Saturday.

The fundraiser will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the New Life Assembly of God Church, 10920 E. Sprague Ave., Spokane Valley.
Members of Kyle's youth group from Community Presbyterian Church in Post Falls will be washing cars.

The Sipe family has asked for assistance from the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA). All funds raised through the charity are used for transplant-related expenses.
Funds raised from the fundraiser will be sent to COTA in Kyle's name. The family needs an estimated $250,000 to pay for transplant-related expenses.
Kyle has been homeschooled for medical reasons the past five years. He previously attended Ponderosa Elementary and Classical Christian Academy and has taken classes through Idaho Virtual Academy and Kahn Academy.
Friends are also organizing a fun run for next spring, a chili feed and benefit shows to support Kyle.
