DeLange to seek re-election in Hayden

HAYDEN - Hayden City Councilwoman Jeri DeLange said Thursday she's running for a fourth term.

"Since 2002 when I began my first term, I have acquired extensive knowledge about the city of Hayden and municipal government," she said. "I can utilize this experience to further the economic growth and development of the community and improve Hayden's quality of life."

She worked toward the downtown revitalization; improvements to City Hall; and a variety of recreational programs and special events including a farmers' market and summer concerts, Hayden Days, Memorial and Veterans Day ceremonies; continuing improvements to the city's parks; and implementation of a pavement management system and transportation improvements.

With one of the lowest tax levy rates in Idaho, DeLange said a challenge for Hayden is providing necessary services for citizens while maintaining the city's quality of life and managing growth.

She said the city does an excellent job of managing its expenses to provide services even though the 2012 tax levy rate is $1.37 per $1,000 of taxable assessed property value.

In 2012, DeLange was elected to serve as a District 1 director for the Association of Idaho Cities.

She has been an association Legislative Committee Member for several years and an executive board member of the Panhandle Area Council. She has 27 years of business experience and is currently employed by Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho.

The lifelong North Idaho resident is married with five children and 10 grandchildren.
