CONTRACEPTION: It's 'intrinsic evil'

| September 4, 2013 10:28 PM

Saturday, Aug. 24, in “My Turn” Unus Vocate wrote about the evil of abortion and said “it is a crime against humanity.” I heartily agree with him. He then wrote contraception is the way to stop all abortions and elaborated all the benefits of using it. On this I emphatically disagree and must set forth the true facts.

The birth control pill does not always prevent ovulation. Conception can happen and a new human being will try to implant in the uterus, make a placenta and grow. The Pill and devices (IUD) cause the uterine lining to be hostile; the baby cannot implant and dies.

This abortive action of the Pill and IUD is why contraception is an intrinsic evil. Here is the estimated number of contraceptive abortions yearly in the U.S.A.: 600,000 to 3,000,000 from the Pill; 1,800,000 to 2,700,000 from Depo-Provera (an injection); 330,000 to 2,100,000 from Implanon (an implant); 3,825,000 from the IUD (intra uterine device) Combine these figures for one year and you have 6,555,000 to 11,025,000.# This is a deluge of death of newly conceived humans where we all once began.

Contraception destroys moral values, family life, love, marriage, and even women’s health. Cohabitation is rampant and they bounce from partner to partner. Sexual diseases increase and AIDS has destroyed lives. The birth control pill is made of female hormones which are steroids. This pollution of a woman’s body does not make her feel good usually, and can be cancer causing and death from blood clots.

The woman’s egg lives only 24 hours if not fertilized, the man’s sperm lives up to five days. So they are fertile less than a week out of a month. Pregnancy is avoided by abstaining during the fertile time. How to know the fertile/infertile time has been taught for years as Natural Family Planning and is 98 to 99.4 percent effective when practiced correctly. Death and Destruction is stopped.
