COEUR d'ALENE - If you have some computer skills or no experience at all the Coeur d'Alene Public Library, 702 E. Front Ave., has training opportunities to match.

Information Technology Coordinator Christopher Brannon is providing free workshops to expand the skills for those who have at least a beginning understanding of keyboarding and computers. The 90-minute workshops focus on using software from the Microsoft Office Suite and using special Internet services.

Workshops are taught in the library's Gozzer Room on the lower level. No registration is required, but seating is limited. Participants are advised to arrive 15 minutes before the workshop begins.

September sessions include: Sept. 9, 5:30 p.m.: Basics in Excel (spreadsheets); Sept. 16, 10:30 a.m.: Intermediate Excel; Sept. 23, 5:30 p.m.: Basics in Word (word processing); Sept. 30, 10:30 a.m.: Working with Facebook. Participants need to have created e-mail and Facebook accounts prior to attending the workshop. Brochures about creating those accounts are available at the library.

The Coeur d'Alene Public Library Foundation resumes ReTool Box, Computer Literacy Help Sessions during September.

The sessions are also intended for those who simply want an introduction to these communication devices.

Sessions are provided in the Community Room and always begin at 11 a.m. The schedule for ReTool Box sessions is: Sept. 10: Basic Operations 1; Sept. 12: Basic Operations 2; Sept. 17: Internet 101; Sept. 19: Resumes and Saving Files.
