Barbara Smith, 69

Barbara Woolley White Smith, of Osburn, Idaho passed away October 16, 2013 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was 69 years old.

She was born August 9, 1944 in Wallace, Idaho, the daughter of Louis and Charlotte Woolley.

Barbara had 3 children which she raised in the small town of Gem.

She was a lifelong resident of the Silver Valley, graduating from Wallace High School in 1962. Prior employer was Spundstrand, and then she became a homemaker residing in Gem then moving to Osburn.

Barbara loved and enjoyed her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. They were truly her sunshine on any given day. She had many hobbies over the years but her “Secret Garden” became her pride and joy and consumed many meaningful afternoons that left her with a happy aura at the end of each day. “The Secret Garden” is located behind her home in Osburn, viewable by traveling the Rails to Trails. She also liked to decorate her home for Halloween and Christmas in hopes that many local residents would drive by and enjoy the view.

Barbara is survived by her husband David Smith, Osburn and son Jeffry(Sally) White, Auburn WA, and daughter Julie(Ken) Koski, Dalton Gardens and daughter Janae(Jack) Mercado, Hayden; seven grandchildren Jeffry Kyle White, Starla Kohoutek,

Megan, Miranda, Marissa & Gavin Koski, and Sienna Mercado, half grandchildren Davin and Brock Mercado; and 3 great grandchildren. Sisters Jean Moore and Carol Vernon.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Charlotte Woolley, her brother Patrick Woolley as well as her children’s father Gerald “Jerry” White.
