Seattle ski show to feature 'Vitamin ID'

| October 26, 2013 9:00 PM

Ski Idaho and Idaho Tourism have teamed up to share the secrets of Idaho's ski areas during the Ski Dazzle Ski Show, to be held Nov. 8-10 at Century Link Event Center in Seattle.

Skiers, snowboarders and outdoor enthusiasts are invited stop by the Ski Idaho Pavilion, featuring a variety of Gem State winter travel and sports offerings, and see why a ski vacation to Idaho provides sunshine, fresh air and a healthy dose of 'Vitamin ID.'

Seven Idaho ski resorts will also be in attendance at the Seattle show: Brundage Mountain Resort, Grand Targhee, Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area, Schweitzer Mountain Resort, Silver Mountain Resort, Sun Valley Resort and Tamarack Resort.

Many Idaho resorts are featuring new offerings this year, including terrain park additions and expansions, new adventure and Nordic trails, lodge expansions and remodels, equipment upgrades, and special discount and ticket programs.

Seattle Ski Dazzle tickets are $15 for adults (includes free lift ticket offer), $5 for children (age 6-12), and free for children 5 and under and may be purchased through the show website.

Idaho, revered by winter outdoor enthusiasts as the 'soul of skiing' and snowboarding, is often considered the birthplace of the American ski resort and is home to the nation's first chair lift.

With more than 28,000 vertical feet and 20,000 skiable acres, Idaho boasts 18 ski areas of varying characteristics, each offering a wide variety of Nordic trails, terrain parks, cat ski trails, heli-ski opportunities and tubing hills. Idaho is a destination ski mecca for those seeking crystal blue skies, fresh powder and no crowds.
