Another PAC set up in Cd'A
COEUR d'ALENE - Barbara Jean Hedden filed a treasurer's report with Coeur d'Alene City Clerk's office Friday to form a new political action committee.
The PAC is called Truth North Idaho, but according to Hedden it has nothing to do with mayoral candidate Mary Souza's "truth page" on her website.
The Coeur d'Alene Press published a letter to the editor on Wednesday that was penned by Hedden, but she said her PAC has nothing to do with that letter either.
The letter alleged that mayoral candidate Steve Widmyer has a potential legal conflict of interest in running for mayor.
"Actually I did that letter previously, and I filed paperwork (Friday)," Hedden said. "(The PAC) doesn't have anything to do with that letter."
Hedden declined to discuss the purpose of the PAC at this time. At the time of filing, Hedden had not raised any money, but she will be subject to campaign disclosure laws and will have to file financial reports along with all other PACs and candidates by Oct. 29.
