Construction tools stolen from Kroc Center

COEUR d'ALENE - More than $7,000 in tools were taken from a construction site at the Kroc Center on Friday morning.

Police investigators at the site determined that suspects moved a fence in order to gain access to the construction site, where they then removed several rods and a piece of stair railing and began using tools they found to pry open a tool box.

According to the incident report, suspects were seen on surveillance camera wearing dark clothing, making several trips in and out of the building with various "very valuable" tools.

"They eventually used a wheelbarrow to take the items out to their vehicle," the incident report states.

Burglary reported at Cd'A home

COEUR d'ALENE - A burglary was reported by a Coeur d'Alene resident Friday when after returning home from a walk with her son she noticed her car key was on the kitchen counter rather than her purse where she had left it.

According to the police report, the resident said she left the house for a little over an hour and when she and her son returned she noticed the key. Upon further investigation, the resident noticed $15 in cash was missing from her wallet.

Although nothing in her vehicle appeared to be out of place or missing, she said the car doors were unlocked.

Officers found no signs of forced entry anywhere in the home.
