MILLER: Service to the community

| October 19, 2013 9:00 PM

I was delighted to learn that Kiki Miller was running for Coeur d’Alene City Council, because I know her to be passionate, fair and totally committed to our community. And we need her there now! She has the ability to listen with an open mind to all sides and not just run the agenda of any particular interest group. She has spent decades in service to our community by promoting our region, civic leadership and community activism.

Kiki’s passion for our community runs deep in the nonprofit sector as well. Having been involved with several nonprofits over the years, I have watched Kiki publish the North Idaho Family Magazine for the last 16 years. With the mission of promoting healthy families and life-long learning, this publication is a go-to guide for resources and services available in our area, connecting families with valuable information, events and activities. She also created the North Idaho Charitable Events Calendar at her own expense to ensure that local organizations’ events/activities avoid duplication in date or type. Kiki doesn’t profit much from this, but she continues to do it because she sees the need of local families and she cares about our community.

Now Kiki has offered her experience and talents to us in the form of running for City Council. With her ability to hear and consider individual viewpoints without losing sight of the big picture, she brings strong commitment to moving Coeur d’Alene forward in a responsible manner.

Please join me in voting for Kiki Miller and a bright future for Coeur d’Alene.
