Lake City 11th in Gold Bracket; Post Falls third, Cd'A fourth in Silver Bracket

SPOKANE - Madi Farrell had 32 kills, 19 blocks and six aces on the day as Lake City placed 11th in the Gold Bracket, 27th overall out of 64 teams at the Linda Sheridan Volleyball Classic (formerly the Crossover Classic) on Saturday.

(Due to erroneous information provided to The Press on Saturday, it was reported in the print edition that Lake City placed 11th in the Silver Bracket.)

Post Falls placed third in the Silver Bracket, Coeur d'Alene fourth.

Lake City beat Rogers 25-16, 25-15, lost to Flathead 25-22, 25-17, beat Grandview 26-28, 25-15, 15-5, lost to Kamiakin 25-21, 20-25, 15-6, beat Eisenhower 25-17, 27-25, lost to Annie Wright 25-20 and beat Prairie for 11th in its bracket.

Madi Farrell had 32 kills, 19 blocks and six aces on the day for Lake City (17-6). Natalie Taylor added 18 digs and six aces for Lake City (17-6). Haile Watson had 31 kills, CC Cates 89 assists, Kasey Widmyer 25 digs.

Brenna Meehan had 30 kills, six blocks and five aces on the day for Post Falls (8-20). Lydea Schneider had 45 assists, Amanda Westlake 29 kills, Amy Booth 27 digs.

Post Falls lost to Pullman 25-20, 20-25, 17-15, lost to Auburn-Riverside 25-12, 25-20, beat Kellogg 25-21, 25-19, beat Lewis and Clark 25-22, 19-25, 17-15, lost to King's 25-20, 25-19, then beat Coeur d'Alene 25-23 in the third-fourth place game in the Silver Bracket.

Coeur d'Alene beat Colville 25-22, 25-21, lost to Eisenhower 26-24, 25-22, beat Grandview 25-22, 16-25, 15-6, lost to Rogers 25-20, 25-20, beat Tekoa-Oakesdale 26-28, 25-13, 15-4, lost to Sandpoint 26-24, 25-20, then lost to Post Falls.

Miranda Miller had 25 kills, and Megan Ramseyer had 23 kills, 40 assists and 18 digs for Coeur d'Alene (16-9). Ali Williams had 27 assists, Sydney Williams eight blocks, Missy Huddleston five aces.

"Great tournament," Coeur d'Alene coach Dee Pottenger said. "Playing a full day of competitive volleyball is great this time of year. It allows us to take a look at different lineups and work on specific areas."

Post Falls plays host to 5A Inland Empire League champion Lewiston on Tuesday.

Coeur d'Alene plays host to Moscow on Thursday.

Lake City travels to Sandpoint on Tuesday.
