Double vision

COEUR d'ALENE -
For twin sisters from Coeur d'Alene, the memories of a 13th birthday and a song sung by a popular purple dinosaur resurfaced Friday in the offices of The Press.
Seventeen years ago, Lindsey Neidig and Bri LaTourrette - formerly Tuntland - were sent on a scavenger hunt through town to determine the whereabouts of their birthday party.
"There were like 20 13-year-olds running around Coeur d'Alene like crazy people," Neidig said.
That scavenger hunt landed the two teams, each led by a twin, in the offices of The Press, where they were asked to sing the theme to the Barney the dinosaur television show before moving on.
For their 30th birthday, their mother, Kelly, decided to bring back the memories of that event. LaTourrette flew into town from Arizona to celebrate the date, and neither she nor her sister knew that a meal at Moon Time would result in a 17th-anniversary scavenger hunt.
The first clue brought them smiling and laughing to The Press offices.
"And here we are again," LaTourrette said, beaming.
After once again singing Barney's theme song, Neidig and LaTourette were given their second clue of the scavenger hunt. After reading the clue, the two laughed out loud and quickly determined they were heading off to the Lake City High School weightlifting room.
"This brings back memories," LaTourrette said. "It feels like it was just a few years ago."
"I'm just happy we get to do this together," Neidig added.
