Coeur d'Alene club fourth at Nike Northwest regionals

EAGLE - Coeur d'Alene High junior Kara Story finished 11th out of 158 runners in a time of 18 minutes, 49.3 seconds at the girls 5-kilometer championship race at Saturday's Nike Northwest Regional cross country meet at Eagle Island State Park.

Story was running on the Coeur d'Alene-based club team Pantalones Rapitos, which finished fourth with 178 points, after winning the meet last year.

Krista Story was 19th in 19:05.5, Caitlin Conway 52nd in 19:48.6, Josie Brown 68th in 19:57.6, Noelle Ball 108th in 20:45.3, Jaycee Rade 122nd in 20:57.2 and Kayla Zurosky 157th in 23:35 to round out finishers for Pantalones.

Alexa Efraimson won the girls race in 17:27.1.

In the boys championship race, Sandpoint senior Sam Levora finished 17th in 16:11. Tanner Anderson won the boys race in 15:19.4.

Lake City juniors Kyler Little (fourth in 16:31.1) and Jake Finney (fifth in 16:49) ran unattached as the XC Men in the boys varsity race.

Mikhaela Woodward finished eighth in the girls varsity race for the Sandpoint Harriers, a club team comprised of this year's state 4A champions from Sandpoint High.

Anna Gibson of the Jackson (Wyo.) Running Club won the girls race in 18:50.3, helping her team to the team title.
