Lawrence Dale Hiett, 65, passed away Nov. 6, 2013, in Los Algodones, Mexico. Larry lived in Dalton Gardens, Idaho.  Recently he was lucky enough to spend his winters in Yuma, Ariz. He was born March 31, 1948, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Anna Canning and Ora Hiett. He grew up in Idaho Falls and lived in Knoxville, Tenn., for four years before settling in Coeur d’Alene in 1981.

He worked as a District Sales Representative for Lorillard Tobacco Company for 25 years and retired in 2006.

Larry loved fishing the Lemhi in Southern Idaho with his father and lifelong friend, Richard Scheets and later in life teaching his daughters and grandchildren to fish. He loved taking care of his property in Dalton Gardens, feeding the birds, squirrels and deer that lived there.

He loved spending time with friends and family sharing stories and making everyone laugh with his jokes. He also loved his time in Arizona with his good friend, Gene Dougall, seeing the sights, feeding the birds and playing Yatzee.

Larry will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Rex Hiett. He is survived by his daughters, Christian Heilman (James) and Melissa Hiett and his grandchildren, Colton Heilman, Bailey Heilman, Dylan Livingston and Airman 1st Class Shelby Livingston. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Marlene Loper (Dale), Maxine Hilliar, Ken Hiett and Gayle Hiett.

No services will be held. Larry’s wishes were that everyone who knew him have a beer in his honor and share happy times they shared with him. Donations can be made in his name to his favorite charity the Kootenai Humane Society.
