Fundraiser to benefit Head Start

COEUR d'ALENE - The Friends of Head Start Flapjack Fundraiser is taking place from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Applebee's, 280 W. Hanley Ave.

Patrons will receive a pancake breakfast for $10, complete with sausage, eggs and beverages. Proceeds will benefit local Head Start programs.

Head Start is a federally funded school-readiness program for children from low-income families. About 300 children ages 3 through 5 attend the eight Head Start programs in the five northern counties. The programs emphasize education, nutrition and health for the whole family.
