According to his math, should everything go the way the meet is seeded, both Timberlake teams would finish fifth, according to Tigers coach Brian Kluss.

Timberlake's boys were 12th last year, but has three state titles and two runner-up finishes since 2004. Timberlake's girls have placed second, first and third at state the past three years.

"There are some areas that we are underseeded," Kluss said. "So I think we can make up some more points. I like our chances to trophy, and I think with a few breaks going our way, we could win the whole thing. We are still young, but we have a lot of experience at the state meet. On the boys side, we're taking 20 boys down and 10 or so have been there before, so they know what to expect. On the girls side, we do not have a lot of kids going, but the kids we do have are tough competitors and I am hopeful for great things from several of them this weekend. If things go our way, it is not too big of a stretch to see us finishing with a trophy. That has been the goal of our girls team all year, and it still seems possible to us."
