Anti-bullying event Friday in Post Falls
The Community Library Network at Post Falls will screen the movie "Bully" on Friday from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Program coordinator Morgan Chevalley hopes this movie will bring a community dialogue that can affect a change.
"I think it's the library's job as a community resource to discuss this topic," she said.
Post Falls High School students think so too.
Art teacher Michelle Chmielewski asked students to create anti-bullying posters to promote awareness of the issue. About 100 posters are on display at the Post Falls Library.
The anti-bullying messages are clear: "Be Loud for the Silent," "Bully Free Zone" and "It Starts with Me."
The movie is an award-winning documentary film about bullying in U.S. schools. Rated PG-13, the film has intense thematic material, disturbing content, and strong language. The screening and discussion is based upon materials provided by the Bully Project, a national movement to stop bullying.
Hannah Masters, an anti-bullying advocate, will lead the discussion.
Registration is not required and the program is free.
