CYT-North Idaho presents 'Great American Tall Tales'

| May 3, 2013 9:00 PM

"Great American Tall Tales" is preparing to hit the Kroc Center stage later this month.

Tickets are now on sale for Christian Youth Theater-North Idaho's spring musical about several young kids who stumble into a dusty exhibit during a museum field trip, and the adventure that ensues.

Together, the children meet some of the most famous characters from American folklore: Annie Oakley, Davy Crockett, Pecos Bill, Johnny Appleseed, Paul Bunyan, John Henry and more.

Through story, dance and song, the children learn that history is alive and vibrant while discovering that sometimes fact and fiction work together to create unforgettable legends.

The production, with more than 100 local school age children between the cast and crew, opens May 17 at 7 p.m. at the Salvation Army Kroc Community Theater, 1765 W.Golf Course Road, Coeur d'Alene.

The show continues May 18, 24 and 25 at 7 p.m.; May 18, 25 and 26 at 3 p.m.; May 19 at 1 and 4 p.m.

Ticket prices: $12 for adults; $10 for seniors and children 12 and younger; and $9 for groups of 10 or more to the same performance. All tickets are $2 more at the door. There is a Discount Matinee: 3 p.m. May 18 at 3 p.m. All tickets are just $8. The 1 p.m. performance on May 19 is for patrons with special needs and their families or caretakers. Those tickets will be $6. This is an abbreviated performance that is adapted for an audience with special needs.

Tickets for all performances may be purchased online at www.cytnorthidaho.org or by phoning the box office: 277-5727
