Hayden welcomes Capone's

Capone's Pub & Grill is planning to open its third location soon. With outlets in Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls for 21 and five years respectively, the new Capone's is at 9520 N. Government Way in Hayden. The ironic fact is that the building formerly was Corey's Furniture, and notorious gangster Al Capone (not one of our Capone people) ran his "business" under a furniture store front).

With the same menu as the other places, the new Capone's seats 172 with a beer garden and a bar for patrons age 21 and over. The soups, bread for the sandwiches, pizza, cheesecakes, lasagna on Wednesdays and beer-batter fish, chips and clam chowder on Fridays are all made from scratch. Beverages includes 41 beer taps, wines and a full liquor bar. The decor primarily is sports memorabilia to complement the many TV sport channels.

Owners Thomas Patrick and Teresa Capone originally are from New York and Kentucky, respectively, and met in California where they were in restaurant work. Their dream of opening a restaurant came true in North Idaho where they moved for the lakes, skiing and raising children.

With 35 employees, hours in Hayden begin at 11 a.m. until about midnight.

- A title written by itself, such as "pope" or "president" is lower case. It's capped when in front of a name. It's lower case when in back of a name such as "George Washington, president..." A job description, such as "column writer Joe Schmoe," is lower case. If unsure if it's a title or a job description, lower-case it in back of the name.

- Don't joke about menstrual cycles. Period.
