Another Cd'A school board hopeful enters race

Bjorn Handeen has filed paperwork declaring his candidacy for election to the Zone 5 trustee position on the Coeur d’Alene School District Board of Trustees.

Handeen will run in the May 21 election against Tom Hearn for the seat now held by Jim Hightower, who was appointed to the position in August.

Hightower has not yet indicated whether he will seek election.

The deadline for candidates to file their paperwork is 5 p.m. Friday.

To be eligible for election, an individual must be a registered voter and be a resident of the zone connected to the position for at least 30 days.
