Since he began performing as a singing waiter in New York at age 13, Tony Bennett's classic style, tuxedo and Great American Songbook, have been staples in our music scene for more than half a century.

Bennett has sold more than 50 million records worldwide, received 16 Grammy Awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and won two Emmy Awards.

He also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, has been inducted into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame, was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, and is a Kennedy Center Honoree.

The now 87-year-old Bennett is still going strong with a new tour that will cover Europe and the U.S., stopping right here at Northern Quest.

Bennett's career took off in the early 1950s with hits including, "Because of You," "Cold, Cold Heart," "Blue Velvet," "Rags to Riches" and "Strangers in Paradise."

Followed closely by "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" which remained on the charts for more than a year and became Bennett's signature song.

Bennett has enjoyed recent success by bridging the generation gap and taking his classic style and paring it with artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flavor Flav and Amy Winehouse.
