LEVY: Helps entire community

Healthy public education is at the core of a healthy community. Well educated and intelligent students who have benefited from our public education system can be found throughout our community as they have either remained here after high school or later returned to live here and pay back a community that supported them through public education.

I have spent many years on the district’s Long Range Planning Committee and through that have seen first-hand the constant refinement and re-evaluation of how funds are used in the school system. There are precious few entities that our tax dollars support that do as much to constantly find new ways to save money as the Coeur d’Alene School District.

Much as we protest any form of taxes, public education remains one of the best returns for our money spent.

Having been educated in a public education system myself, it is my obligation to support a very frugal district that year in and year out remains on the low end of the cost scale when compared to national averages.

I will vote YES!
