Bikes, Brews and BBQ is Saturday

Bikes, Brews and BBQs is being touted as the "ultimate summer event."

It takes place Saturday at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds and offers three summer favorites - barbecued meats, cold beer and a motocross show.

General admission is free. A pass for the Brewfest, where a wide variety of regional, craft-brewed beers will be available for tasting, is $10. Admission to the motocross show at 7 p.m. is $12.

Doors open at 7 a.m. with the start of the sanctioned barbecue competition.

From 7 to 10 a.m., a pancake breakfast will be held to benefit the North Idaho Fair and Rodeo Foundation, to pay for student scholarships, youth programs and facility improvements.

At noon, a carnival opens with amusements, food trucks and live music.

At 2 p.m., the Brewfest starts and the barbecue competition tastings start (for a donation).
