Shem D. Webler, 36

Shem Douglas Webler passed away in his Seattle home June 9, 2013. Shem was born, June 6, 1977, in Springfield, Mo., son of Harriet Chase and Gerald Webler.

Immediately after his graduation from Coeur d’Alene High School in Coeur d’Alene, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. During his marriage to Jill (Roe) McFall of Troy, Idaho, the couple had two beautiful girls, Rachel and Ashley.

Shem served as a medical lab technician in Korea, Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu and Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash.

During his 15 years of service Shem achieved the rank of sergeant and was awarded numerous medals and honors as well as served in Iraq.

After being honorably discharged from the Army he was employed at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. During his career he was able to achieve a bachelor of science and was working towards his master’s in chemistry.

Shem is survived by his mother, Harriet Chase, father Gerald Webler and wife, Kelly, his daughters Rachel and Ashley Webler and siblings Edward Webler and wife Desiree, Kevin Webler and wife Vanessa, Nephi Webler, Jared Webler, Seth Webler, Aaron Webler and wife Jeanie, Angie Farmer, Samantha Stout and husband Dwayne and Daniel Bird and wife Amanda.

He also leaves several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and many brothers and sisters in uniform.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday June 24, 2013, in Medical Lake, Wash., at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery at 21702 W. Espanola Road. Donations can be made in his honor to “War Dogs Making It Home” at the following link www.wardogsmakingithome.org/
