Raymond Joseph 'Joe' Schneider (Hoy), 26

| July 30, 2013 2:18 PM

Raymond Joseph “Joe” Schneider (Hoy), of Post Falls, died much too soon July 28, 2013, at the age of 26 with his wife and infant daughter at his side holding his hand after fighting so hard to come back to them for over a month. He was born in Tulare, Calif., and spent the majority of his life in the Coeur d’Alene area.

Joe was in the process of finishing his degree in computer science at the time of his death. Joe married the love of his life, Crystal, on Dec. 3, 2011, and they welcomed their first and only child Emmalyn on Nov. 20, 2012. Joe was a longtime employee, since the grand opening, of the Coeur d’Alene Best Buy. He was a hardworking man and would do anything for his friends and family.

Joe was well-known for being honest and dedicated to all that he did as well as his sense of humor and contagious laugh. He was known for having a big heart and a soft spot for his girls whom he would lay his life down for. He was the most dedicated doting father that a little girl could have ever had and the most loving and caring husband. Joe enjoyed all things technology and spent his time enjoying his family and his pets and listening to music, a pastime that brought him the most joy. He loved football and spent the season rooting on the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Hoy and his longtime friend, King. He is survived by his wife, Crystal Schneider; their daughter, Emmalyn Schneider; his two furry best friends, Tokey and Junior; parents, Raymond and Terri Hoy; his sister, Jennifer Doane; his sister, Katrina George and her husband, Thomas George and their, children, Claire and Jack; his grandmothers, Nancy Schneider and Marge Hoy; his lifelong best friend, Jerome Roseman; and innumerous aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly and countless friends whom he considered family. He will be deeply and sorely missed as an irreplaceable husband, father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, coworker and friend and the world is a sorrier place without him in it.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Coeur d’Alene Assembly of God, 2200 N. Seventh St., Coeur d’Alene. All family, friends, acquaintances and coworkers are welcome to attend. Please sign Joe’s registry and view his online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Emmalyn Schneider’s Trust Fund. They can be sent to her grandmother for deposit in Emmalyn Schneider’s name: Terri Hoy, P.O. Box 1776, Hayden, ID 83835-9998. All donations will go toward building a better future for Joe’s beautiful baby daughter. Thank you.
