Organic bakery comes to Post Falls
Watch for the "Now Open" sign for the new Tree of Life Organic Bakery & Deli. This unique Jewish cafe should open this week in the building that formerly was Horizon Credit Union between Trading Post Grocery and the empty Hot Rod Cafe building on the south side of Interstate 90 in Post Falls.
The wide menu includes burgers, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, soups, side dishes, steamed vegetables, kale chips, desserts (cheesecake too) and breakfasts. Stressing no GMO (genetically modified) ingredients, even the beverage menu is completely organic.
Owners John and Linda Miller and sons Jacob and Zachary came to North Idaho from Orange County, Calif., 20 years ago.

Idaho Legal Aid moving
After more than 30 years on Sherman Avenue, Idaho Legal Aid Services this week is moving to new office spaces in Suite 219 of Harbor Plaza at 610 W. Hubbard Ave. (along Northwest Boulevard).
The statewide, private, nonprofit law firm provides free services based on household income, assets and the type of legal matter. The staff of six (with three attorneys) represents victims of domestic violence, tenants, homeowners facing foreclosure, public benefit applicants/recipients and senior citizens needing help with guardianships, powers of attorney, simple probates and paying for long-term care.
"We'll miss being part of the downtown core, but our new location will provide easier access and front-door parking," said Alan Wasserman, managing attorney.

Hollywood Nails now open
Complete nail care with manicures, pedicures and acrylic nails, Hollywood Nails has opened at 2628 Government Way.
Originally from Vietnam, owner William (Alex) Nguy came with his family to North Idaho from Iowa in 2003. He has been a nail technician for 17 years.
"I am always experimenting with new nail designs to offer something new and refreshing," Nguy said.
