Watch for the "Now Open" sign for the new Tree of Life Organic Bakery & Deli. This unique Jewish cafe should open this week in the building that formerly was Horizon Credit Union between Trading Post Grocery and the empty Hot Rod Cafe building on the south side of Interstate 90 in Post Falls.

The wide menu includes burgers, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, soups, side dishes, steamed vegetables, kale chips, desserts (cheesecake too) and breakfasts. Stressing no GMO (genetically modified) ingredients, even the beverage menu is completely organic.

Owners John and Linda Miller and sons Jacob and Zachary came to North Idaho from Orange County, Calif., 20 years ago.

Seating 34 customers, hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except closed Saturdays. Phone 773-2865. Check www.tolorganics.com.

Idaho Legal Aid moving

The staff of six (with three attorneys) represents victims of domestic violence, tenants, homeowners facing foreclosure, public benefit applicants/recipients and senior citizens needing help with guardianships, powers of attorney, simple probates and paying for long-term care.

"We'll miss being part of the downtown core, but our new location will provide easier access and front-door parking," said Alan Wasserman, managing attorney.

Starting July 29 in the new place, hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Phone 667-9559, fax 664-0931. Check www.idaholegalaid.org.

Now for tantalizing Tidbits

• Next week: Details on the Harbor Freight store.

• A Sandpoint reader says if enough people go to the comments section on the Trader Joe's website maybe they'd put a store in North Idaho.

• Two readers wrote that "Mind your P's and Q's" comes from old printers advising their apprentices that these lower-case letters (to print, the old wooden/metal type was backward) were easy to reverse incorrectly.

• Also upcoming: Details on Paws & Claws Pet Resort moving and a new real estate office in Riverstone. The Diamond Cup Hydroplane office also is there.

• Style note: Words with the prefix "non" usually aren't hyphenated.

• In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes which firmed the mattress when pulled. Hence, "Good night, sleep tight."
