| July 17, 2013 9:00 PM

Ride the Pass, an annual mountain bike ride and fundraising event for local nonprofits, takes place again Sunday. This year, proceeds will benefit Family Promise of North Idaho in their efforts to help homeless families with children gain housing.

The ride begins at Fourth of July Pass Nordic Park and Ski Trailhead and travels through the Idaho Panhandle Forest and Coeur d'Alene River District.

Bikers have several ride options. A 10- or 17-mile course ride begins at 9:30 a.m. and a 35- or 50-mile ride begins at 8:30 a.m. Entrance fees are $30-$45, depending on the length of the course selected.

The ride is sponsored by Bicycle Sales and Service of Coeur d'Alene.

The price includes salmon or veggie burgers at the finish station, provided by Pilgrim's Market.

For information about the bike ride, call Bicycle Sales and Service, 667-8969 or go online to www.bicycleservice.com/4thJuly.html
