Richard A. Johnson, 69

Richard A. Johnson, resident of Rathdrum, passed away at Sacred Heart Medical Center on Sunday, July 14, 2013.

He was born in Spokane on July 20, 1943. The oldest son of Andrew and Laura Jean Johnson, he graduated from Whitefish High School and spent four years in the National Guard.

He spent his career as an over-the-road truck driver and had the distinguishment of driving over three million accident free miles.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Moser; siblings, Cheryl Frye, Ron Johnson, Lane Johnson and Rhonda Johnson; children, Tim England, Sonya Christiansen, Delena Smith and Kellie Johnson; son Steve Moser; and grandchildren, Michael Eslick, Carissa Daniels, Kyle Smith, Shelby Smith, Keasha Johnson and Kaylee Moser.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Prairie Cowboy Church in Rathdrum.
