Joyce Lynne (Anderson) Arnold, 79

| January 31, 2013 8:00 PM

On Jan. 29, 2013, Joyce, of Post Falls, peacefully, went home to spend eternity with her Savior. She was born on Nov. 2, 1933, to Swan and Marjorie (Hosford) Anderson, in Burbank, Calif.

Our Mom, Joyce, was an amazing and wonderful Mom — to Kathy and Howard, to her step-children and to most of our friends and neighbors (who some knew as “Joyces”). She had such a warm beautiful smile and the most loving and giving heart, that touched all who met her. It was her loving heart that just wore out in the end, from all of her special love. She leaves behind a lifetime and abundance of special friendships. She was also a wonderful Grandma and Great-Grandma, each grandchild being special to her in their own way.

She was Grandma to: Kurtis and Howard Crampton Jr., Brian, Kristopher and Nicholas Russell, Dionne Rice, Donna Crawford, James Frawley, Chandra, Sarah and Katie Hollinger; and Great-Grandma to16 great-grandchildren: Tyler, Hannah, Adam, Kaden, Lily, Matthew, Ronin, Ayden, Dane, Tyler, Carmyn, Jeffrey Dale, Darian, Savannah, Ruby and Sam.

Joyce grew up in Burbank, attending Roscoe Grade School and Verdugo Hills Junior High. She then moved with her family to Lowell, Ore., and attended Lowell High School.

She married Lon Crampton of Lowell, in 1948. While living in Lowell, their children Kathy and Howard were born. In 1961, the Crampton family moved to the San Fernando Valley in southern California — Lake View Terrace to be specific.

Joyce went to work for Von's markets in 1964, where she started out as a checker and then became bookkeeper for the Toluca Lake and Burbank stores. It was there that she met her second husband Richard Arnold, her very special love, they were married in July 1969. Joyce and Dick retired from Von's in 1984 and moved to Magalia, Calif. They both loved to fish the lakes in the Sierras, and fished their most special spot — June Lake, Calif. — as often as they could. In 2001 they moved to Kingman, Ariz., to be near family and away from the fire danger of Magalia. When Dick passed away in 2006 she moved to Post Falls to live close to her family.

Joyce loved her church, Real Life Ministries (Post Falls) and was active in serving with the bulletin stuffers and un-stuffers, and also was a greeter for several years. Joyce had many cherished friends there, especially a small group of ladies who enjoyed brunch together each week after stuffing the bulletins. Now and then they would get adventurous and weather permitting, they would take a day trip together to see the surrounding areas of Coeur d'Alene. She was very happy living in North Idaho and enjoyed the changing seasons, especially the winters. She was a fabulous cook and was always trying new recipes out at her home group potlucks and other such functions. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Blondie and Marge Anderson; sister Patricia; nephew Tom and husband Dick.

She is survived by daughter Kathy (Crampton) Bates; son Howard Crampton; stepson Tom Arnold; and stepdaughters, Marianne (Arnold) Bakic, Maureen (Arnold) Zook, Virginia Arnold, Lorainne (Arnold) Lang, Carolyn (Arnold) Spears and David Holman. Also her special nephew, Jeff Taylor and all of her above mentioned grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A special heartfelt thank you to Hospice of North Idaho and Hospice House for their kind hearts and the loving care they gave to our Mom.

Joyce asked for no flowers please. In lieu of flowers, she ask that any donations be made to Hospice of North Idaho, Hospice House or to the food room at Real Life Ministries.

There will be a memorial service for Joyce at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 1, 2013, at Real Life Ministries, 1866 Cecil Road, Post Falls (in RLM2).
