Stay hydrated. Dehydration can cause result in injury, even death in the most extreme cases. Drinking plenty of water will keep your body functioning at its best.
Sleep. Ensure you get enough sleep. This is the time when your body heals itself. Not getting enough rest can leave your body vulnerable to injury and the pain that comes with it.
Don't be "tough." If you're hurt, stop doing what is causing you pain. It's a very simple idea, but there is this idea today that people should fight through pain, as if it's a sign of toughness. This idea usually ends poorly and with injuries and pain.
