PREP BASKETBALL: Coeur d'Alene Charter slips past Miners

COEUR d'ALENE - Christian Pedersen finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and four steals and Bryan Smith added 15 points, six assists and four steals to lead the Coeur d'Alene Charter Panthers to a 59-51 win over the Wallace Miners on Monday night at Holy Family Catholic School.
"It was our senior night tonight," Panthers coach Chris Pedersen said, "and two of our seniors (Pedersen and Smith) got us off to a great start."
After Wallace adjusted its defense, the Charter coach said juniors Chris Adams and Christian Johnson 'really stepped up and hit some big shots."
Charter (11-5) is at Clark Fork on Thursday.

T.J. Placencio scored 21 points for Mullan (1-13, 0-7), which travels to the Coeur d'Alene freshmen tonight.

COEUR d'ALENE - Lexi Turkenburg scored 24 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had nine steals to lead Coeur d'Alene Charter over Wallace in nonleague play on Monday at Holy Family Catholic School.
Anna Verhaeghe added 15 points, nine rebounds and five steals, and Jacklyn Jensen finished with eight points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks for the Panthers (5-3), who travel to Clark Fork on Thursday to take on the Wampus Cats.

McKinnon had 12 rebounds, Sydney Koenig 18 rebounds, Robbyn Trogden 11 points, nine rebounds and six steals for Mullan (7-8, 4-4), which travels to the Coeur d'Alene freshmen team tonight at 5:30.
