SCHOOL: Disruption leads to eviction

| January 27, 2013 8:00 PM

Wednesday I received a phone call form Ponderosa Principal Kathy Baker telling me I needed to pick up my son for the third time so, being upset, I asked why my son was being sent home from school. The answer I got was he was being disruptive.

Now I feel as a mother there should be more than a reason like that to send our children home. They send our children home for anything these days, not justified reasons, either. I drove to get him and by the time I got down there I was very upset, asking the front desk ladies why he was being sent home and still the answer I got was he wouldn’t be quiet! At this point I’m yelling.

Kathy Baker comes to where I am and said to me if I don’t leave she will have me arrested for trespassing. Mind you, I volunteer my time at the school on Tuesday mornings in my son’s class. How is that grounds for trespassing?

When I got home the police were at my house telling me they could put me in handcuffs and take me to jail and put my son in foster care and I only wanted to know why they were sending my son home with only two hours remaining in school for the third time. My 6-year-old was placed on the bench for a week as a punishment. What does that teach them? The school is there to educate our children on many different levels.
