Nowell, Gregorak to speak

at NIC Booster luncheon

Premier Sports Center Director of Operations Troy Nowell and North Idaho College volleyball coach Kandice Gregorak will speak to the NIC Booster Club at noon Tuesday at The Coeur d'Alene Resort.

Nowell played multiple sports at Sandpoint High, as well as American Legion baseball for the Riley Creek Lakers from 1995 to '98. After high school, he played baseball at Glendale Community College in Arizona and played in a Yavapai Community College summer league. He worked out with the Padres and Mariners in Peoria, Ariz., but multiple injuries along the way forced him to retire in 2002.

Gregorak announced her resignation as coach after two seasons, effective Jan. 31, after leading the Cardinals to back-to-back NJCAA tournament appearances. She was the Scenic West Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2011 and had a record of 42-15 in two seasons at NIC.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting. The cost of lunch is not covered.
