HISTORY: Albright shines great light

| January 25, 2013 9:22 PM

Kudos to Syd Albright in his weekly “History Corner.” The current article (Jan. 20) about Ellie Seidler is a well-written historical piece that should be required reading for history class.

Chances are that teachers glance over the 1939 invasion of Poland by the Third Reich, and only mention it because it is on the test. With an informative article like this, it brings to life the events experienced by real people. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers to engage students in the study of World War II, and perhaps mention to them that we (the Allies) almost lost the war.

Keep up the good work.

Guten Tag!
