Local courses named top public courses

Two local golf courses have been named to Golf Digest's biennial "America's 100 Greatest Public Courses of 2013-14" list.

The Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course is 81st and Circling Raven Golf Course 96th in the poll, which is based on shot values, resistance to scoring, design variety, memorability, aesthetics, conditioning and ambiance.

Circling Raven was named No. 22 in Golfweek's Best Casino Courses in the U.S. in December.
