ALPENGLOW: In awe of photo

The Chris Peterson photo of alpenglow published Jan. 17 in the Outdoors section of The Press is the best picture of alpenglow that I have seen.
What is alpenglow? Alpenglow is seen in the East after the sun has gone down so there is no direct path for the sunset light to reach the mountain. Instead the light reflects off of airborn snow, water or ice particles low in the atmosphere. It is this circumstance that separates a normal sunset from alpenglow.
A person is very lucky to be in the right place at the right time to see or photograph alpenglow.
