North Idaho Fair and Rodeo seeks entertainers
COEUR d'ALENE - The North Idaho Fair and Rodeo may be seven months away, but planning for the event's entertainment lineup has already begun.
Fair management is doing a call to the community for local performers and entertainers who would like to be considered.
Any type of talent is welcome, from musical to martial arts, and can be individuals or groups, as long as it is appropriate for families.
This year's fair will have a number of changes, including a new layout, daily admission specials and carnival provider.
There will also be four stages throughout the grounds which will allow for more of our local community talent to be featured.
Those wishing to be considered as a performer must submit an application by April 1, which is available for download on www.northidahofair.com.
The North Idaho Fair and Rodeo is slated for Aug. 21-25.

Sheriff pledges to protect Second Amendment
SANDPOINT - Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler is letting the public know where he stands as the debate over gun control rages in Washington, D.C.
"I've been a strong advocate of the Second Amendment and I'm always going to stand up to make sure that those rights are protected," Wheeler said on Thursday.
As officials around the nation react to President Barack Obama's $500 million effort to control gun violence in the wake of last month's Sandy Hook massacre, Wheeler said his office has fielded a number of requests from the public asking what his position is on the issue.
In response, Wheeler posted a message to his department's website which urges the public to reach out to local, state and federal officials to push back against 23 executive actions proposed by the Obama administration to enhance gun control regulations.
