GUNS: In wrong hands of some
GUNS: In wrong hands of some
I appreciate all the responses to my letter on gun violence. Hopefully they noticed that I never mentioned Newtown or assault rifles. I don’t look at the problem with any hysteria of the moment.
Mention guns and the NRA in a letter and all kinds of people will throw out facts, figures, and arguments that guns make everyone safer and when they don’t, the resulting tragedies are simply facts of life like drunk driving accidents. Are 10,000 deaths each year from gun violence really acceptable?
I’m guessing that all those who responded to my letter are very spiritual and religious. They derive great strength and peace from believing in something greater than themselves. Can they not use this same inner spirit to see beyond themselves and show that they really care about the 10,000?
Too many people who shouldn’t own guns, do. Can we at least agree on that?
