Randle (Randy) L. Sadler, 76

| January 17, 2013 8:00 PM

We lost our treasured husband, dad, and gramps unexpectedly on Jan.13, 2013 when he passed at our family home in Hayden. Randy was born Feb. 26, 1936 to Lyle and Josie Sadler in Palmdale, Calif.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1954 and served his country until 1956. He attended Antelope Valley College and earned his associate’s degree, however Randy was self-taught in anything mechanical. From building his first tractor at age 10 to sharing his knowledge of automobiles with his grandkids. He always had a project in mind that needed to be worked on and “fixing” things is what made him happiest.

While attending college he drove the college bus which is where he met his beloved wife of 49 years, Doris. He was employed by SoCal Edison for 30 years where he spent some of his favorite times on mountain tops in remote locations solving technical problems. Propane and mechanics fascinated him and he became certified in a variety of fields. He enjoyed water skiing, camping and other outdoor activities.

He created a wonderful life for his family, always taking care of others. Later they moved to central California and planted a citrus orchard where he enjoyed spending time farming his new “babies” and taking care of Doris’ parents Harry and Rose Morsefield. They moved to Hayden in 2003 to be close to his grandchildren that he adored. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities and spending time with his dog and best friend Winnie.

Randy was preceded in death by his sister Beverly Pippenger and brother Forrest Sadler. He is survived by his wife Doris; brother Dave Sadler (Peggy); sister-in-law Joanne Sadler; son Greg Sadler (Debbie) and their daughters Melissa and Ashley; daughter Debbie Costa (Chris) and their children Danielle and Jackson; and many nieces and nephews. At Randy’s request no service will be held, instead his family and friends will have a champagne toast in his honor when the sun comes out. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the 3 C’s Foundation.
