It's a chocolate affair in Cd'A

COEUR d'ALENE - Indulge your sweet tooth.

Or provide the sweets and earn top recognition.

Or both.

The Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association's third annual 'Chocolate Affair' will give chocolate lovers the chance to do all the above, Friday, Feb. 8., as guests can dig in to their hearts' content a week before Valentine's Day.

This isn't standard bon-bons either, but who's to say those won't be on hand?

Chocolate kettle corn, even chocolate wine will be a part of this year's sample.

"It's not just little chocolate candies," said Gay Glasson, DTA event coordinator. "It's just about everything you can think of."

Those interested in preparing a rich dish as part of the event still have time. Entries are needed by Feb. 1. Once the lineup is set, between 12 to 20 chocolate creators will be set up in businesses downtown from 5 to 8 p.m. They'll all be vying for the top dessert as chosen by the judges and attendees.

As the name of the event suggests, it's all chocolate, dark, white and everything in between. So eat dinner before dashing off for dessert downtown, Glasson said.

"It's mainly just chocolate, but I mean, c'mon, it's chocolate, what more do you want?" Glasson added.

Tickets cost $7 each or $10 for a couple.
