GUNS: Double your frustrations

| January 16, 2013 8:09 PM

This is in response to Sholeh Patrick’s gun column. Mr. Gaines responded to most of the article on Saturday, but there was one section that was truly baffling.

Sholeh takes the mental leap of equating the doubling of guns since 1968 to being “twice as afraid.”

It would be interesting to see exactly which series of synaptic responses in the brain caused it to go in that direction.

I have two cars, so what the heck does that mean? Good grief, I have three TVs, now my head is really starting to hurt (and yes the number of TVs has also doubled since the 1970s). Imagine my horror when I opened the utensil drawer and found no less than 16 spoons. Not only that but there were different sizes.

Maybe I need this army of spoons since I am afraid (very) of the great pudding insurgence of 2013.

Perhaps, just perhaps the explanation lies in a much simpler realm in that since 1968, we have had FORTY FIVE YEARS to buy guns.

Take my case for example. In 1968 I had (other than a BB gun) a total of zero guns.

I now have, well, more than two. I don’t care to divulge how many in public for fear (I am now at least twice as afraid) of the fishwife Feinstein sending troops to my doorstep at any minute.
