No. 20 N.C. State upsets No. 1 Duke

C.J. Leslie scored 25 points - including six straight during a key second-half run - to help No. 20 North Carolina State beat No. 1 Duke 84-76 on Saturday at Raleigh, N.C.

Richard Howell added 16 points and 18 rebounds in a relentless performance for the Wolfpack (14-2, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) in a matchup of the teams predicted to finish 1-2 in the league.

N.C. State was picked for the first time in nearly four decades to win the league, though two early losses drained some buzz.

No longer. Now N.C. State is back on everyone's radar, while the Blue Devils (15-1, 2-1) are no longer unbeaten.

No. 3 Louisville 64, South Florida 38: At Louisville, Ky., Peyton Siva scored 17 points and Louisville held South Florida (9-6, 0-3) to a season-low 27 percent shooting for an easy victory.

Center Gorgui Dieng added 12 points and 16 rebounds while forward Chane Behanan had 12 rebounds and seven points for the Cardinals (15-1, 3-0 Big East).

No. 5 Indiana 88, No. 8 Minnesota 81: At Indianapolis, Victor Oladipo had 20 points and six rebounds and Jordan Hulls knocked down four 3-pointers, helping Indiana hold off Minnesota (15-2, 3-1).

The Hoosiers (15-1, 3-0 Big Ten) have won six straight overall and 18 in a row at Assembly Hall. All five Indiana starters scored in double figures in the first game at Assembly Hall between Top 10 teams since No. 7 Ohio State played visited No. 10 Indiana on Feb. 19, 2000.

No. 6 Kansas 60, Texas Tech 46: At Lubbock, Texas, Kevin Young scored 14 points and Kansas (14-1, 2-0 Big 12) beat Texas Tech (8-6, 1-2).

No. 7 Syracuse 72, Villanova 61: At Syracuse, N.Y., C.J. Fair had 22 points, Trevor Cooney hit a pair of 3-pointers to punctuate a late surge and Syracuse beat Villanova.

Syracuse (16-1, 4-0 Big East) has won 34 straight home games, the longest active streak in the nation in Division I. Villanova (11-5, 2-1) had its seven-game winning streak snapped.

Mississippi 64, No. 10 Missouri 49: At Oxford, Miss., Murphy Holloway scored 22 points and Ole Miss (13-2, 2-0 SEC) beat the Tigers (12-3, 1-1).

No. 11 Florida 74, LSU 52: At Baton Rouge, La., Kenny Boynton scored 20 points and Florida (12-2, 2-0) used a 31-6 run across the halves to rout LSU (9-4, 0-2 Southeastern Conference).

Wisconsin 74, No. 12 Illinois 51: At Madison, Wis., Jared Berggren scored 15 points and grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds, and Traevon Jackson added a career-best 14 points to lead Wisconsin (12-4, 3-0 Big Ten) over Illinois (14-4, 1-3).

No. 14 Butler 79, Dayton 73: At Dayton, Ohio, Roosevelt Jones scored 16 points, and Butler extended its best start in four years, beating Dayton (10-6, 0-2) for its 11th straight victory despite losing its top scorer to injury.

The Bulldogs (14-2, 2-0 Atlantic 10) lost guard Rotnei Clarke, who hit the padded backboard support after an intentional foul at 8:13 at the first half and was taken off the court on a stretcher. He was moving his legs and gave a thumbs-up sign as he left the court.

He was taken to a hospital for tests that were negative. Trainer Ryan Galloy said he had a sprained neck. It's unclear how long the Bulldogs will miss Clarke, who averages 17 points per game.

No. 16 San Diego State 79, Colorado State 72, OT: At San Diego, Chase Tapley scored 12 of his 19 points in overtime and the Aztecs (14-2, 2-0 MWC) beat the Rams (13-3, 0-1).

Connecticut 65, No. 17 Notre Dame 58: At South Bend, Ind., Shabazz Napier scored 19 points, Tyler Olander scored 12 of his career-high 16 points in the second half and Connecticut ended the game with a 7-0 run to beat Notre Dame, ending a 12-game winning streak by the Fighting Irish.

After a 3-pointer by Eric Atkins tied the score at 58 for the Irish, Ryan Boatright made four straight free throws for Connecticut and DeAndre Daniels added a basket and a free throw to put the game away. The Huskies (12-3, 2-1 Big East) are the only team to beat the Irish (14-2, 2-1) at home in the past 48 games dating back to the end of the 2009-10 season.

No. 18 Kansas State 65, West Virginia 64: At Morgantown, W.Va., Shane Southwell made two free throws with 21 seconds left, then blocked Gary Browne's layup attempt with 1 second left to preserve Kansas State's win over West Virginia (8-7, 1-2).

Southwell and Rodney McGruder both had 17 points for the Wildcats (13-2, 2-0 Big 12).

No. 19 Georgetown 67, St. John's 51: At New York, Otto Porter had 19 points and a season-high 14 rebounds and the Hoyas beat St. John's (9-7, 1-3).

Martel Starks had 17 points for the Hoyas (11-3, 1-2 Big East), who had lost two straight games and scored 48 points in both. There was plenty of offense from them in this game as they continued their great defense in taking a 36-19 halftime lead after being up by as many as 33-10.

No. 21 Cincinnati 68, Rutgers 58: At Piscataway, N.J., Cashmere Wright scored 23 points and the Bearcats (14-3, 2-2 Big East) beat Rutgers (11-4, 2-2).

No. 24 UNLV 76, Air Force 71, OT: At Las Vegas, Bryce Dejean-Jones made a go-ahead jumper with 12 seconds remaining in overtime and UNLV (14-3, 1-1 MWC) beat Air Force (9-5, 1-1).

No. 25 New Mexico 72, Fresno State 45: At Albuquerque, N.M., Alex Kirk had 19 points and a career-high 14 rebounds and New Mexico (15-2, 2-0) beat Fresno State (6-9, 0-2 Mountain West).

Arizona 80, Oregon State 70: At Corvallis, Ore., Solomon Hill had 16 points, including five 3-pointers, to help the Wildcats (15-1, 3-1 Pac-12) beat the Beavers (10-6, 0-3).

Washington 65, Stanford 60: At Stanford, Calif., C.J. Wilcox scored 27 points and the Huskies (11-5, 3-0 Pac-12) beat Stanford (10-7, 1-3).

Southern California 76, Utah 59: At Salt Lake City, J.T. Terrell scored 14 points and the Trojans (7-10, 2-2 Pac-12) beat the Utes (8-8, 0-4).

UCLA 78, Colorado 75: At Boulder, Colo., Travis Wear scored a career-high 23 points and UCLA (14-3, 4-0 Pac-12) beat Colorado (11-5, 1-3).

BYU 82, Santa Clara 64: At Santa Clara, Calif., Tyler Haws scored 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting as BYU (14-4, 4-0) took control in the second half to rout Santa Clara (12-6, 1-3 West Coast).

Saint Mary's 78, San Francisco 72: At Moraga, Calif., Matthew Dellavedova scored 19 points and the Gaels (13-4, 2-1 WCC) beat the Dons (7-10, 0-4).

Portland 68, Loyola Marymount 64: At Los Angeles, Ryan Nicholas had 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Pilots (8-10, 1-2 WCC) past the Lions (8-9, 1-3).

San Diego 62, Pepperdine 50: At Malibu, Calif., Johnny Dee scored 17 points, Ken Rancifer added 16 and San Diego (10-8, 3-0 WCC) beat the Waves (9-8, 1-3).

Texas-Arlington 91, Texas State 74: At San Marcos, Texas, Karol Gruszecki hit seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points as Texas-Arlington (8-6, 3-2 Western Athletic) defeated Texas State (4-14, 0-6).

Louisiana Tech 73, UTSA 71: At San Antonio, Kenyon McNeail came off the bench to score 34 points and Louisiana Tech (14-3, 5-0 WAC) beat UTSA (4-12, 0-6).

Former North Idaho College standout Michael Hale III had seven points, four assists and two steals for UTSA.

Denver 64, Seattle U 51: At Seattle, Chase Hallam scored 17 points and Denver (9-7, 5-1 WAC) beat the Redhawks (5-10, 0-5).

Montana 85, Northern Colorado 77: At Greeley, Colo., Kareem Jamar scored 26 points and Montana (10-4, 6-0 Big Sky) beat Northern Colorado (3-11, 1-5).

North Dakota 86, Montana State 73: At Grand Forks, N.D., Jamal Webb scored 23 points and North Dakota (5-10, 2-4) beat the Bobcats (6-8, 3-3 Big Sky).

Former Post Falls High standout Marcus Colbert had 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals for Montana State.
