Claude Eugene Carey, Jr., 94, formerly of Hayden Lake, passed away January 6, 2013 in Seal Beach, California. He was the son of Claude
Eugene Carey, Sr. and Muriel Bodger Eynon. He was predeceased by his wife of more than 50 years, Geraldine Flanagan Carey, his daughter,

Claude retired as a GS-17 in Civil Service with the United States Air Force. His career took him and his family all over Europe.

He was an active member of Hayden Lake Friends Church for over 20 years. As a Hayden Lake resident, he volunteered at Kootenai County Medical Center and in the local school, helping young students with math skills.
Left to celebrate his extraordinary life are his two sons, Michael (Christine), of Beaufort, SC, and Donald (Susan), of Hayden; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Sue Carey, and dear companion, Esther Roberts.
No local service is planned.
