Post Falls, Timberlake advance to Gold Bracket at River City Duals
POST FALLS - Defending champion Post Falls cruised to wins against Pullman and Priest River on Friday to advance to today's Gold Bracket of the River City Duals at The Arena.
"We wrestled great tonight," Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. "We just went out and took care of business. It was a real good start and nice to see us bounce back after last night (lost to Hermiston 44-33)."
Post Falls will face Capital in its first match today at 10:30 a.m.
Timberlake beat Bishop Kelly 60-21 and Connell 42-41 to advance to the Gold Bracket and will face Columbia today at 10:30. Lakeland lost to Colville 57-24 and beat Gonzaga Prep 55-27 and will face Ephrata in the Silver Bracket at 10:30.
Wrestling resumes today at 9 a.m., with placing matches scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and the championship dual at 5:30.
GOLD BRACKET - Hermiston vs. Pasco, Colville vs. Nampa, both 9 a.m.; Columbia vs. Timberlake, Capital vs. Post Falls, 10:30.
SILVER BRACKET - Connell vs. Freeman, Sandpoint vs. Shadle Park, both 9 a.m.; Priest River vs. West Valley, Lakeland vs. Ephrata, both 10:30.

Coeur d'Alene trio, Wells
move on to semifinals
MISSOULA, Mont. - Anthony Price (98 pounds), A.J. Konda (112) and Hudson Staub (171) from Coeur d'Alene High, and Nick Wells (130) of Lake City, won three matches apiece to advance to today's semifinal round of the Jug Beck Rocky Mountain Classic at Sentinel High.
Coeur d'Alene, which led the tournament after Friday's first round, is sixth with 97 points with six wrestlers in the consolation bracket.
"This is probably the best we've wrestled all year," Coeur d'Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. "Especially in a tough tournament like this. We're really starting to turn the corner and the young guys are starting to mature. It's a really good time to start making changes."
Lake City, which has two wrestlers in the consolation bracket, is 27th with 29 points.
Great Falls is leading the tournament with 68, followed by University with 59.5.
The tournament concludes today.
