* WRESTLING

COEUR d'ALENE - The Coeur d'Alene Vikings had pins in six weights to defeat the visiting Capital Eagles of Boise 48-34 on Thursday.

Due to slick roads, Capital didn't arrive in Coeur d'Alene until 5 p.m., and the Vikings (6-2) left immediately after the match to travel to Missoula for the Rocky Mountain Classic, which begins today at Sentinel High.

"I thought we wrestled really well considering we had to wait and then get ready again in a hurry," Coeur d'Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. "They've got a tough team and I was happy to get out of here with a win."

Hermiston 44

Post Falls 33

POST FALLS - With a chance to take on one of the top teams in the Northwest, the Trojans tweaked their schedule and added a dual with Hermiston (Ore.) in a tuneup for the River City Duals, which begins today.

Post Falls coach Pete Reardon and first-year Hermiston coach Shaun Williams wrestled together at North Idaho College a few years ago, and when Hermiston was looking for another tournament to enter, Reardon suggested coming on up and dualing his team the night before.

"For the most part our guys wrestled pretty darn hard," Reardon said. "But we were left with a bad taste in our mouths. We felt we should have won, but we left a few points out there on the mat. You have to bring your 'A' game in every weight when Hermiston's in town. You can't leave matches out there against good teams."

The teams could meet up again on Saturday at the Duals.

"If we take care of business, we might get another shot at them," Reardon said.

Post Falls was also scheduled to wrestle Capital on Thursday, but with the Eagles arriving late and then wrestling Coeur d'Alene, it was decided their match with Post Falls would not be held.

FRENCHTOWN, Mont. - Jared Lambert won both his matches at 160 pounds for the Lake City Timberwolves, who beat the Libby Loggers 49-24 and Whitefish Bulldogs 63-21 in nonleague duals at Frenchtown High.

Zion Dixon also won by pin at heavyweight for Lake City against Libby.

"Everyone wrestled really well tonight," Lake City coach Corey Owen said. "Even the guys that lost were fighting and scrapping hard. I was real pleased with our effort from top to bottom."

Against Whitefish, Lake City won seven matches by forfeit.

"For the first time all year, we're pretty healthy," Owen said. "With the Montana weight classes, it was actually a plus for us because there's one less upper weight and it works out well for our team."

Hannawalt, Walker win twice for Hawks

"Both Dustin and Karsen had two wins, which was good," Lakeland coach Rob Edelblute said. "But I was a little disappointed in how (the team) wrestled tonight. We'd just came off a good week of practice, but any time we wrestle Columbia and Nampa, we need to bring our 'A' game. We came out flat and it showed on the scoreboard."

Lakeland (3-3), Columbia and Nampa all compete at the River City Duals today and Saturday in Post Falls.
