Patricia Lee Mendonca, 78

Patricia Lee Mendonca, 78, long-time resident of Post Falls, past away Dec. 27, 2012. She was born Aug. 1, 1934, to Doyle Henry Von Lindern and Norma Fern Lanter, of Post Falls.

She was born at home, delivered by her grandmother, at the Grand Junction Railroad station located on the prairie where her grandparents John and Clara Lanter lived and worked.

She was the oldest of five, four brothers and a sister.

She married Gerald M. Otto on March 15, 1952. They were married 38 years and had three children.

In 1978, Patricia and Jerry joined and helped establish the first Post Falls Chapter Good Sam club. They enjoyed campouts and traveling in their motor home.

A few years after Jerry’s passing (1990), she met John F. Mendonca Jr. They married on June 1, 1996 in Post Falls where they continued to reside. Patricia and John also enjoyed traveling and campouts with the Good Sam club. Patricia was their secretary-treasurer and an active member for 28 years.

Patricia is preceded in death by siblings: Jim Von Lindern (1964), Lawrence (Larry) Von Lindern (1992), husband- Gerald (Jerry) Otto (1990), mother-Norma (1993) and father-Doyle (1951) Von Lindern and son-William (Bill) Otto (2005).

She is survived by John F Mendonca Jr. (husband), David and Carla Harris (daughter, Coeur d’Alene), Tim and Leanne Otto (son, Post Falls), Mike Von Lindern (brother, Post Falls), Jerry and Joyce Von Lindern (brother, Virginia Beach, Va.), Sheila Von Lindern (sister, Virginia Beach, Va.), Dwan Otto (granddaughter, Post Falls), Dan and Stephanie Harris (grandson, Coeur d’Alene), Jeff and Caila Harris (grandson, Kuna, Idaho), Jeremy and Sylvia Otto (grandson, Post Falls), Joshua Otto (grandson, Post Falls), three great grandsons and three great granddaughters.

At Patricia’s request, no services will be held.
