Sigrid Carlson, 98
Sigrid Carlson, 98, passed away Dec. 30, 2012. Sigrid was born Sept. 11, 1914, to Bergitha and Anton Hansen of Britt, Iowa.
Her family moved to Fergus Falls, Minn., in 1921. Sigrid worked in North Dakota where at age 20 she met and married Harold Carlson. They farmed in Minnesota then during World War II moved to Lansing, Mich. They also lived in New Mexico and Montana. They came to Coeur d’Alene in 1952.
Sigrid liked flowers and entered them in the fair for many years. She was a lifelong bingo player and met a lot of friends along the way. When she was in her 80s she entered and won the North Idaho College Home Raffle winning a home in the Highlands in Post Falls.
She sold her home in Hayden when she was 97 and moved to Heritage Place at Coeur d’Alene Homes.
She is survived by two daughters, Pat Gant and Joan Wilson of Post Falls; sister Ruth Steele of Hamilton, Mont.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
