Ex-Vandal coach Akey still weighing options

Robb Akey, who was dismissed as head football coach at Idaho in October, was in Coeur d'Alene on Friday night to watch his son, Jack, and his Moscow teammates take on Lake City in boys basketball.

Akey told The Press he's hoping to get back into coaching soon, currently weighing his options for the 2013 season. He said he has spoken with some schools, but said nothing was definite yet.

"Right now, we're trying to find a new home," Akey said. "There's a lot of changes going on in college football and the NFL and we're trying to find the right place. We'll see what happens after the season, but I'm looking forward to being back on the sidelines somewhere soon."
