SKI: Give credit where it's due

| January 4, 2013 8:00 PM

First of all, I enjoy reading your newspaper daily. I would though like to comment on the article “Sandpoint falls short in ski town throwdown.” In your article you say that “Nelson, British Columbia” won the title.

I have been voting on this ski town throwdown, and it is with interest that I was voting for “Rossland, British Columbia and Nelson, British Columbia.” Since I am from the Rossland area (6 miles down the hill), I was dismayed to see the name Rossland, B.C., missing from the article.

This was a very big win for Rossland, B.C., and Nelson, and with Rossland only a 3-hour drive from Coeur d’Alene, I feel that there should be a correction in the paper. I personally encourage people to come to Coeur d’Alene on a regular basis, and I ask them to skip Spokane as I love the city.

I would sincerely appreciate if you could correct this article and give “Red Mountain Resorts, Rossland, B.C.” the recognition they are due. I would also like to mention that you can purchase ski hill tickets to Red Mountain at Costco in Coeur d’Alene. Here is the website for this gorgeous, one of the oldest hills in North America…http://www.redresort.com/

Total snowfall since Oct. 1: 159.9 inches.
