Larry Todd Judd, 48

| January 3, 2013 8:00 PM

I’ve lost my 22-year battle with Hodgkin’s disease. I, Larry Todd Judd, 48, of Coeur d’Alene, passed away peacefully surrounded by my wife and daughters in the wee morning hours of Dec. 29, 2012.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. Burial will follow at a later time at Sweet Cemetery.

I was born Nov. 2, 1964, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son to Leonard and Geraldine Judd. I grew up in Denver and as a teenager moved with my family to Kenilworth, Utah, where I finished school. I proudly served a two-year mission for my church in Montana where I met many new friends. The Hodgkin’s first was diagnosed at this time and it was shortly after, I met and married Nancy Riggs on Nov. 28, 1993, in Boise. It was at that time we moved to Bozeman, Mont., the love of my life; fishing and hunting were aplenty and I considered this “home.”

I was lucky enough to attend MSU (go Bobcats!). In 2000, we were fortunate enough to adopt our first daughter, Nina, from Beijing, China. This was the first of many blessings I would receive in my short life. We relocated to the Boise area at this time and proceeded to adopt our second blessing, daughter Malia. At the same time I learned that my Hodgkin’s had come back with a vengeance. We proceeded to China and upon our return; I underwent chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. I had plenty of good times while I worked as a sales representative for ADT in Middleton before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 2009. By this time the complications from the many treatments had weakened my heart and lungs and the simple things became a struggle. I am at peace and comfortable in my Savior’s arms now.

Those left behind include my wife, Nancy; two beautiful daughters and the apples of my eyes, Nina and Malia; my mother, Geraldine (LaRay) Greene; brother Scott (Patti) Judd; three sisters, Lori (Joe) Brummer, Stephanie (Mark) Shull and Beth (Leon) Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews; in addition to my wife’s family and many others whom I consider family.

I was preceded in death by my father, Leonard Scott Judd and niece Audrey Brummer.

We request any donations be made to Hospice of North Idaho or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
