| January 3, 2013 8:00 PM

Passed away Dec. 19, 2012, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene.

Joreen, a 70-year resident of Athol, was born in Livingston, Mont., on April 5, 1933, to Joe and Ercel Humphrey. Her family moved to Athol in 1942 where her father, Joe was employed during the construction of the Farragut Naval Training Station. She is survived by Carl Bohn, her husband of more than 62 years; her three sons, Russ Bohn and Betty, Randy Bohn and Donna, Rob Bohn and Evelyn. The joys of her life were her grandson, Travis and wife Heather; great-grandson Gavin; granddaughter Emily and great-granddaughter Mackenzi. She is also survived by her brother, Dan Humphrey.

She and Carl went to all basketball and football games, and track meets while their boys attended and graduated from Lakeland High School. She worked hard at making sure that her boys had the cleanest uniforms on the team year after year! She was involved in city of Athol functions, serving as mayor and fire chief at the same time. For many years Joreen was a member of the Kootenai County Planning and Zoning Board where she helped direct the growth of Kootenai County. She worked in area cafés until she built and ran her own café, the Grubstake, for eight years and then sold it. She helped Carl in his excavation business for many years.

She will be missed by everyone who knew her, especially her family. A celebration of life service will be announced and held in the spring.
